Judge Jimmie Edwards speaks with the Vermont House Judiciary CommitteeIt was an honor and privilege to have Judge Jimmie Edwards speak to our committee during his visit to Vermont for MLK week. Thanks to Vermont Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul L. Reiber for making this happen. Judge Edwards reminded us of the importance of leading from the heart and our common humanity.

Judge Edwards is the Director of the Department of Public Safety for the City of St. Louis, MO. Prior to this appointment, he was a St. Louis circuit judge for 25 years. In 2013 he was presented with the William H. Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence by Chief Justice John Roberts. He is also the founder of the Innovative Concept Academy, a school for at-risk youth, the subject of the documentary film “For Akheem.”
